CARE AND CLEANING TIPS
Care and maintenance is essential for extending the life and look of your jewelry. Below are some helpful hints to prolong the life of your jewelry and gemstones.
General Tips
- Store your jewelry in a clean, dry place.
- Do not store all of your jewelry in a case together. Individual pieces can scratch each other.
- Remove all of your jewelry when doing chores around the house such as laundry, dishes, and yard work.
- Remove your jewelry when taking a bath, shower, or getting into a chlorinated pool or hot tub.
- Wipe off excess makeup or skin oils after each wearing. Use a 100% cotton cloth.
- Remove fingerprints, light grease or dirt, with a small amount of a mild liquid soap and half cup of warm water. Soak 2-3 minutes, rinse thoroughly in clean water, dry and store in an airtight plastic bag.
- Utrasonic cleaners are a quick and convenient way to clean jewelry, however, they can damage some jewelry. Consult your local jeweler to see if an Utrasonic cleaning machine is appropriate for you.
- Do not use chlorine to clean your diamond jewelry.
- Clean your diamonds regularly using a commercial jewelry cleaner.
- See your local jeweler once a year to check for loose prongs, worn mountings and general wear and tear.
